Booking/Deposit

If you are ready to reserve your portrait session with Kristi Midgette Photography, please contact kristi@kristimidgette.com or 252.573.8229 or submit our contact form at www.kristimidgette. com. Once we confirm availability, we will send you a contract via email. As soon as we receive your signed contract along with your deposit, your beach portrait session is confirmed. We require a 50% deposit at time of booking. The remaining balance is due prior to portrait session. We accept most major credit cards, cash or check.

 

Photographic Style

Our style is a mix of Classic & Traditional with Candid & Artistic. Our sessions usually begin with traditional family portraits with the group positioned facing the camera with smiling faces. We will divide the group up to capture family, couple or individual portraits depending on the dynamic of the group. We will switch settings and positions for a variety of lighting and shots. Later in the session we move down by the water where we capture candid moments of your group having fun, maybe even getting your feet wet! We are happy to modify our sessions if you have a style preference.

 

Timeline

Within a few days of your portrait session, we will release sneak peeks of some of our favorites from your portrait session on our Facebook and Instagram. Please make sure you follow Kristi Midgette Photography on these accounts to share with your friends. Each of your photos will be professionally edited and made available to you via our online gallery within two to three weeks of your session. You will receive an email notification as soon as your photos are released.

 

Bad Weather/Cancellation

In the event of inclement weather, we will make every effort to reschedule your session. If we are unable to reschedule, we will issue a refund. Most of the time, we can easily work around weather by changing the time or location of the photoshoot. If something comes up and you need to reschedule your session, please allow at least 24 hours notice and we can reschedule your session (based on availability) at no additional fee. Please know that there are no refunds or reschedules for no-shows.

 

Location

Our favorite place to shoot is Coquina Beach in South Nags Head - we highly recommend this location for anyone staying within a reasonable driving distance. Coquina Beach offers a variety of scenery with the least amount of crowds. We can recommend other scenic beaches or non-beach locations closer to you if you prefer or we can come directly to you! Please know we do charge a $50 travel fee for sessions north of Southern Shores or south of Oregon Inlet.

 

What to Wear

We recommend everyone to be comfortable in what they are wearing. Many people choose to be traditional with white shirts and khaki pants or jeans. Colors can make for great photos as long as you avoid bold patterns or graphics in your clothing. Try choosing colors that compliment each other. Not everyone has to match
